There are some experiments, such as IceCUBE, that run all year but do annual maintenance or major modifications only during the summer.

I think Jeff is wondering why they have skeletons instead of some other form of undead that is better suited for the climate. I think vampires would be ideal, since they could work 24/7 without fear of sunlight.

I think there was a movie about that, only the vampires were in the Arctic. What do they do when the "midnight sun" season is upon them?
