Better yet: I gave a favorable rating to a recording of The Messiah.

And got a recommendation for a Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Reversible Napper and Changer, Go Green.

What? Liking Messiah means I'm probably religious, and religious people tend to have young children?

This is almost as good as Freakonomics. More credible, though. :D

I think this really must be the pattern. I've also seen recommendations now for laundry bags, can openers, and Pampers, all based on my fondness for a particular Messiah recording.

And, three posts in a row. I am now officially a crackpot.

Wait for it ...

Well, you made me look at my recommendations, based primarily on things I've either looked at or downloaded, since I rarely give reviews. From the Android app store, I get kids' games and learning games, probably because I download games for the grandkid onto my Kindle. For books, I got five Sherlock Holmes stories, one Stars and Empires boxed set, and a Preppers Survival, the last two based on a single purchase of Communion of Dreams, which I don't even remember purchasing. So far, no more Bobbsey Twins suggestions, at least not in the recommended short list upon signing in.

Books: The Innovators, Hacker Hoaxer, Where Wizards Stay Up Late, Crypto: How The Code Rebels Beat The Government..., Master Pieces: The Curator's Game, In Parenthesis, and Merchants and Masterpieces. First - fourth were suggested because I had to buy Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution for school a few years back; same with Curator's Game and Masterpieces...; In Parenthisis was because of another required school book, Bleeding London.

I can't imagine what Amazon thinks of me.

You read earlier in this thread how Amazon recommended a book on breast reduction surgery based on my interest in a book on Hirohito?

Still haven't topped that one.

The Messiah is the gift that keeps giving: Now, based on my having "liked" a recording of it, I've been recommended a brand of sea salt.

Makes sense:

and

Now it's a flyer for:

Harcos Labs Zombie Jerky Teriyaki

Keebler Export Sodas Crackers, 28 Ounce

Thinkgeek Canned Unicorn Meat

... which puzzles me: Do they mean jerky made from zombie, or for zombies? I can't imagine brain jerks very well. And the unicorn meat seems surprisingly inexpensive at only $34.98.

Oh, and the last item:

Waste King L-8000 Legend Series 1.0-Horsepower Continuous-Feed Garbage Disposal

That at least makes sense.

I think these recommendations were a result of looking up Soylent Green crackers a while back, which also sort of makes sense.

So, I don't really pay attention to ads in the border of web pages, but.

I am buying fish tank supplies for my salt water aquarium and I start getting ads for fish finders for my boats. Maybe not a odd as some of the others in this thread, but fish tanks and fishing are not quite similar hobbies
