What a bizarre movie. The only thing resembling the original was the title and the music.

Actually, it had more in common with Blazing Saddles but without the comedy and it was done by DC. It was painfully, painfully PC.

The bad guy wants to run the settlers out of town because he's mining. What? Why? I guess mining is one of those non-PC things. The miners look like extras from a concentration camp movie. Somehow they are slaves being held against their will. Mine owners are like that I guess.

The mine looks like some doorways in the side of a low rise hill that look like it is made of dirt Some explosions but no tailings.

The bad guy's second in command is an Apache (ish) guy. When he is instructed to go raise an army he comes back with 200 cowboys. What?

I don't know why they bothered with 500 lb bombs during WW2 when a stick of dynamite would have done the job. Similarly a gattling gun fired from 1/4 of a mile away is all you need to destroy a Frontier town, too bad you decided to use it after your 1st 150 cowboys were killed.

Of course once the bad guys start firing through gattling gun, the good folks have to take the children out of the cellar and send them into the fields. What?

It was offensively stupid. Is this any way to treat history?

The family enjoyed it though.

Ugh. Sorry to have my initial impressions confirmed, just based on the commercial. I love the original and have zero desire to see this one.
