It was cute. Inaccurate (you can tell a man wrote it,) but, cute.

Actually, I think it's kinda disingenuous to say that it's exclusively male v. female. I do that with my kids. You can see the 'nail' - the actual issue - but the kid just doesn't, and won't listen.

In fact, if you stick that into a MvF context, it's kinda insulting, ya know? If I, as a F parent do that with my kids, then does that mean that the M thinks he's 'parent,' that is, over, the F, necessary to guide her cute but illogical self? I mean, in that case, it really isn't about the nail, it's more about attitudes between partners.

So, the nail thing is inaccurate. A mature F would realize that it's the nail causing the problems. A mature M would realize that the F realizes it, and if he didn't, she'd mention. That's what adults do. The issues she brings up are directly related to the nail, so in this video, he's got a point, and she's just being childishly unrealistic. But, that's what makes this absolutely not about the nail. A real discussion like this would have both parties acknowledging the nail, but the M fixated on it and the solutions to the problem, while the F would be more about why it was there, who did it, did they do it randomly or because they hate her, and, if they hate her, is it because of her looks, or her type (or lack of) make-up, or, maybe because they think she's fat.

And, that's the whole thing, isn't it? You think I'm fat!

;)

I finally got to see it. It kept blowing up my tablet (in a mostly figuratively way).

One of the hardest lessons I learned in married life is how to listen. You are required to be alert and attentive and mostly silent. There will be a test.

Change the guy diary entry to "Program's got a bug, can't find it" and it's all too real for me.
