Well, with one qualifier. The S-process can generate elements beyond iron, but it's always secondary to energy-producing reactions and it requires you have some iron to start out with as 'seed' nuclei. Also, this process produces relatively neutron-poor isotopes, and so can't account for either heavier elements or middleweight elements with a high neutron count.
